Understand technological products and systems by looking at their characteristics, and what they are used for in society.


WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!

+ Understand the business that creates the product, and their target market/s -

  • Who is the target market?
  1. Are the most customers male or female?
  2. How much does the product or service being offered cost?
  3. What community groups do most of the customers belong to?
  4. Are the ideal customers children, young people, middle aged, or senior?
  5. Is the product or service being used in a large family home, public place, corporate setting, etc?
  • How is the product meant to enhance people’s lives?
  • Where is the product distributed?

+ Find out about the developmental stages have taken place to date -

  • Use various information sources to find out if the product been improved, and adapted over time. What changed? What stayed the same?
